Meals in Tokyo
Tokyo is a culinary hub, and there are meal options for any budget range:
- Convenience store bento: JPY 300 - 700 (USD 2.5 - USD 5).
- Fast food (McD, yoshinoya, sukiya, matsuya etc): JPY 600 - 1500 (USD 4.5 - USD 11)
- Family restaurants (saizeriya, ootoya, gusto, coco’s, coco ichiban curry etc): JPY 1000 - 2000 (USD 7.5 - USD 14.5)
- Conveyor belt sushi (sushiro, kurasushi, hamazushi etc): from JPY 120~ (USD 1) per plate.
- Izakaya (Japanese style bars, usually serving finger foods): from JPY 2000~ (USD 14.5 ~)
Many chain restaurants will have English menus. Otherwise, you can use apps like Google lense to translate.
