Will I get any transportation facility?
No. However, city tour participants will get a free transportation card / SUICA (included in city tour price)

How many students can I bring to attend the BTC?
You can bring as many students as you want. However, only 1 team can present their story on the stage.

Do we have to prepare the students for a project presentation?
Yes. 1 team per country will get the chance to present their story on stage. Other teams can present their project at the BTC World Expo.

What is the average price in a restaurant?

  • Convenience store bento: JPY 300 - 700 (USD 2.5 - USD 5).
  • Fast food (McD, yoshinoya, sukiya, matsuya etc): JPY 600 - 1500 (USD 4.5 - USD 11)
  • Family restaurants (saizeriya, ootoya, gusto, coco’s, coco ichiban curry etc): JPY 1000 - 2000 (USD 7.5 - USD 14.5)
  • Conveyor belt sushi (sushiro, kurasushi, hamazushi etc): from JPY 120~ (USD 1) per plate.
  • Izakaya (Japanese style bars, usually serving finger foods): from JPY 2000~ (USD 14.5 ~) 

Will everything take place at the same location?
Apart from the city tour and Friday morning activities, everything will take part inside the National Olympics Memorial Youth Center.

Do the students participate in organizing the event?
DFC SCM will take part in organizing some parts of the event.

In which language will the event happen?
The main language will be English. Simultaneous intercom interpretation is available in Japanese.

Is there any specification related to the age of the students?
No. However, the event is optimized for children around 10-17 years of age.

Will the students of a particular country always stay together?
No. Students will be divided into groups for workshops as well as other activities that require students to mingle with students from Japan and other countries.

Will we have free time everyday?
Yes. You are free to explore Tokyo outside the BTC schedule.

Will the event be fruitful for the DFC country coordinators as well?
Yes. Yes, Global Partner Meeting is scheduled for 27 Nov (full day) and 28 Nov (half day)

What is the recommended attire?
You may need a light jacket or sweater after dark, which is after 4:30pm at the end of the month. Wearing layers is a good idea this time of year, as it may be cool outside and hot inside in many places.

What will the weather be like?
November means autumn in Tokyo, with the city's parks exploding with color. The skies are typically brilliant blue, and the maple trees turn scarlet. It's cooler and drier, with average max temperature around 17°C and much less precipitation.
